Help young people know they are not alone
Your Story, My Story is a project of Sabrina’s Reach4Life Inc., a volunteer-led charity. Your gift helps young people share their stories safely and find support when life feels heavy.
Sabrina’s Reach4Life is a registered charity and Deductible Gift Recipient, so gifts of $2 or more are tax deductible. How our charity status works
Where your gift goes
Donations go to Sabrina’s Reach4Life, the charity behind YSMS, and support all of its work, including Your Story, My Story. The charity says every dollar donated goes directly to one of its key initiatives.
Your Story, My Story
- Keeping Your Story, My Story online, with a real person reading every story before it goes public.
- Building the next phases of YSMS: more resources and tools, then support for parents and schools.
Our four main activities
- The Sabrina’s Reach4Life Scholarship at Charles Darwin University: $15,000 for a psychology student, in memory of Sabrina Di Lembo.
- World Suicide Prevention Day events, held every 10 September for the last eight years.
- A monthly support group for people bereaved by suicide, running in Darwin since 2019.
- Support After Suicide Loss, an eight-week program for people affected by suicide. It was developed with the help of Jesuit Social Services, which has run its Support After Suicide program in Victoria for nearly 20 years. Instead of meeting once a month, people meet every week for eight weeks.
Gifts also help the charity take part in suicide prevention events and work towards future plans: Healthy Mind awards for young people, a peer-run Warmline, and the Garden of Hope, a memorial and reflection garden.

Our charity status, explained
Not every charity can give tax-deductible receipts. Sabrina’s Reach4Life has taken three steps to get here, and each one means something for your gift.
Registered charity
Sabrina’s Reach4Life has been registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) since December 2020. The charity reports to the national regulator every year and must meet its governance standards. As a registered charity, it pays no income tax and receives GST concessions.
Public Benevolent Institution (PBI)
A PBI is a charity whose main purpose is to help people in need directly. As a PBI, Sabrina’s Reach4Life is also exempt from fringe benefits tax, so it can offer salary packaging to any staff it employs. More of each dollar stays with the work.
Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR)
Since 31 January 2026, the Australian Taxation Office has endorsed Sabrina’s Reach4Life as a Deductible Gift Recipient. This is the step that matters to you as a donor: gifts of money of $2 or more are tax deductible, and you can claim them on your tax return.
You can check this yourself on the ABN Lookup record for ABN 55 102 185 422 (opens in a new tab) and the ACNC charity register (opens in a new tab).
This is general information, not tax advice. If you are unsure what you can claim, talk to your accountant or the ATO.
